Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed at determining: (1) the integration of TPACK in writing, (2) the implementation of TPACK integration in writing, and (3) the result of using TPACK in writing. This study was qualitative research using a descriptive qualitative method. The participants were an English teacher of tenth grade and 108 tenth grade students in SMK Negeri 3 Palembang. Data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaire, observation, interview, and documentation. Data validity used was triangulation data to support the data of the study. The observation was done in the classroom in the amount of seven meetings. The questionnaire was given to the participants in the process of the implementation of the study and continued to the interview to the English teacher and several students. The findings showed that (1) the teacher integrated TPACK in teaching and learning process, (2) the teacher implemented TPACK integration, and (3) the application of TPACK could improve the ability of the students in writing skills.
