The aims of this research as to find out and describe: The influence in reading comprehension achievement between students with positive and negative attitudes in reading comprehension achievement, The influence in reading comprehension achievement between students with high and low motivation in reading comprehension achievement, The interaction between learning attitude and learning motivation on learning achievement in reading comprehension. This research was carried out at SMP 3 Tanah Abang Pali for class VIII students for the 2023/2024 academic year. It is located on Jl. Tanah Abang-Modong district. Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir, South Sumatera. To analyze students’ attitudes in gaining reading comprehension, researcher used quantitative descriptive methods taken through questionnaires. There are 104 students in grade 8 of junior high school that are respondents to fill out the questionnaire. Based on the result of the attitude and motivation survey, this research has achieved its objectives, but still has limitations. This research may represent the learning attitude and learning motivation of other students on reading comprehension, but cannot be generalized to other study programs. The reason is that other studies have different contexts, backgrounds and participant. These courses can also influence the way students learn different material. Therefore, the results may differ. Another limitation is that this study has a small scope. It only focuses on one small course. Therefore, further studies are needed to investigate broader aspects regarding other elements such as gender, teacher preferences for teaching methods, school environment, etc. to find out whether these elements can influence students’ learning attitudes and motivation on reading comprehension or not.
