Abstract

This research is aimed at finding out how much influence audio-visual animation video media has on the ability to listen to stories in class V students at SD Negeri 10 Pemulutan in Indonesian language lessons. This research analyzes the effect of using audio-visual animated video media on the ability to listen to stories in class V students at SD Negeri 10 Pemulutan. The formulation of the problem in this research is: Does the use of audio-visual video media affect the ability to listen to stories in class V students at SD Negeri 10 Pemulutan. This research is a type of pre-experimental design research with the one group pre-test-post-test design method. The subjects of this research were 30 class V students at the Oku Regency State Elementary School, South Sumatra. The instruments used in this research were an initial test (pre-test) and a final test (post-test). The analysis technique uses a paired test. The results of this research show that (1) there is a significant influence in the use of audio-visual animation video media on the story listening abilities and skills of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 10 Pemulutan. This is proven by the results of the Paired-Samples T Test, which shows the Sig value. (2-tailed) is 0.034 < 0.05 and (2) there is a difference in the influence of using audio-visual animation video media in story listening lessons for fifth grade students at SD Negeri 10 Pemulutan compared to using conventional media through lectures and reading texts, the results are shown in this research is that the average results on the posttest are greater than on the pretest (75.20>64.53). Thus, it can be concluded that the use of audio-visual animated video media influences the listening ability of class V students at SD Negeri 10 Pemulutan, South Sumatra.
