Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of principal leadership and teacher commitment on teacher work productivity in State Senior High Schools in Kayuagung District. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a correlational survey design. The research sample consists of randomly selected senior high school teachers in Kayuagung District, with a total of 122 respondents. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis results show that the principal’s leadership has a positive and significant influence on teacher work productivity, with a correlation value of 0.341, indicating a relationship percentage of 34.1%, while the remaining 65.9% is determined by other factors not mentioned in this study. Additionally, teacher commitment is proven to significantly contribute to improving work productivity. These findings highlight the importance of the principal’s role as a visionary leader in creating a supportive work environment and enhancing teachers' professional commitment. The implications of this study provide recommendations for educational policymakers to strengthen the leadership capacity of school principals and collectively build teacher commitment.
