Abstract

This Study aimed at determining: (1) the influence of Comics Strips strategies; (2) the influence of Motivation reading ; and (3) the influence both comics strips strategies and reading ability towards the students at junior high school SMPI Maryam Murait Martapura. This study was a qualitative study using factorial design method. The respondents were 142 students at junior high school SMPI Maryam Murait Martapura. Data collection technique used in this study were questioners and documentation. Validation test utilized in this study were construct validity and content validity, while the reliability test ultilized in this study was Cronbach’s Alpha. Normality test, homogeneity test, and linearity test had been conducted before data were analyzed using simple and technique. The findings showed that (1) There is significant influence of language learning strategies on students’ reading achievement of at junior high school SMPI Maryam Murait Martapura value of 0.00 ; (2) There is significant influence of reading ability on students’ reading achievement of English study program at junior high school SMPI Maryam Murait Martapura value of; 0,00 (3) There is significant influence of comics strips strategies and reading ability simultaneously on students’ reading achievement of English study program at junior high school SMPI Maryam Murait Martapura value of 0,01 there is simultaneous influence between comics strips strategies and reading ability with learning motivation.
