Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the freeze framing technique in teaching reading descriptive text. This research is a type of quantitative descriptive research method. Data analysis techniques in this study are using t-test is a parametic statistical test that determines whether a difference in the means of two samples is significant. SPSS 26 was used for the calculations in this study. Based on the results of the paired sample t test in the experimental group, the mean post-test score (69.25) is higher than the mean pre-test score (72.67. Since the p-value (sig. 2-tailed) is lower than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. In the pre-test, the result of independent sample t-test showed that t-obtained was 2.221and p-value was 0.168. Since p-value was lower than 0.05 (0.030<0.05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa writer made conclusion that using freeze framing had been effective in teaching reading descriptive text.
