Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using Quizizz in improving descriptive writing skills among tenth-grade students at SMAN 8 Palembang. A quasi-experimental design was used, involving two classes of 35 students .The findings showed that the average post-test score of the experimental class was 84,94, while the control class scored 76,68, resulting in a difference of 8,26 points. The independent samples t-test revealed a statistically significant difference between the two groups, with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000, where this value was < 0.05, this indicates that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted and indicates that there exists a meaningful difference in writing performance of descriptive texts between students who are taught using Quizizz and those who are taught without using Quizizz in the tenth grade of SMAN 8 Palembang.
