Abstract

This study aims to explore students' perspectives of Utilizing English videos on TikTok to improve their speaking ability. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was collected through observation, questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with students. From the results of the study, the findings showed that the use of English videos through the TikTok app has a significant impact on students' fluency in speaking English. Based on the results of observation showed that the researcher find out and look for sources regarding problems that are both strengths and weaknesses in the school, namely the researcher choose SMA Negeri 11 Palembang. In addition the result of interview showed that from 20 respondents were interviewd. The respondents have found that watching English content on TikTok helps improve their English speaking skills. They actively engage with the material and feel more confident speaking English after watching the videos. Many apply what they learn in their daily conversations. However the findings from questionnaire showed that the ressult of the questionnaire showed that 64% of respondents are agree tiktok improve their speaking ability, however 34% of respondents sometimes feltt that tiktok improve their speaking ability, in another hand 2% of respondents did not agree that tiktok improve their speaking ability. This study concludes that from the perspective students, English videos on TikTok can be an effective tool to improve English speaking fluency. The use of these videos is positively correlated with students' fluency level, although the level of use varies among respondents. Keyword : TikTok, English video, Speaking, Students’ Perspective
